So England qualified for the World Cup in Brazil last week and theres much debate on who should be on the plane in June as some of you know i answer sports questions on the TV Show On The Bench and we have answered questions over the squad over Adnan Januzaj and Andros Townsend so heres who ill put on the plane and who will just miss out
Goalkeepers :
Joe Hart has been the brut of media crictism over the course so far this season and yeah he has made some howlers but with his international experience he must be first choice keeper here no disrepect to the other keepers but he has played well over the last few years and a few mistakes dont account for there Title Winning season and his grest saves have been overlooked by some mistakes but who doesnt Fraser Forster is a fantastic keeper we saw that in the champions league against AC Milan and Barcelona and he deserves a place in the world cup squad for them alone i would expect a few caps albeit off the bench in the world cup warm up matches next month and in march in the international window in March next year so he has some game time in case hes been called on, on the big stage the 3rd keeper spot is between 3 goalkeepers Ben Foster,John Ruddy and Jack Butland Now i dont think Jack will be on the plane despite been in the TEAM GB Olympic squad and a cap i think it will Norwich over the years as has Foster for West Brom who defied the odds last season and finished in the top half of the league but Ruddy and Norwich defeated second season syndrome and with there ablast of quality players it must be Ruddy For me
On The Plane : Joe Hart,Fraser Forster and John Ruddy
In the lounge : Ben Foster,Jack Butland
Defenders :
Well the usuals will be there Glen Johnson must be starting Right Back for his attacking potential and he could come up with the odd goal the centre back pairing of Gary Cahill and Phil Jagielka work well together and they have shown that in the last few Qualifiers, But that be depend if they stay fit another certain on the plane will be Ashley Cole who will be fighting it out with Everton's Leighton Baines for the left back starting role but both will be on the plane i also expect Chris Smalling,Phil Jones and Steven Caulker should be on the plane for Brazil but if injuries occur Ryan Shawcross,Luke Shaw who has been impressive for Southampton this season and maybe in the waiting room for the world cup squad will be Micah Richards who has overcome injury to get back into the Manchester City squad
On the Plane : Geln Johnson,Phil Jagielka,Gary Cahill,Ashley Cole,Leighton Baines,Chris Smalling,Phil Jones,Steven Caulker,
Waiting Room : Ryan Shawcross,Luke Shaw and Micah Richards
Midfielders
Well Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard will be on the plane for there final World Cup. Theo Walcott will be too but it wont be his last world cup, The left midfield role could be filled by Danny Welbeck but if Roy wants wants a left midfielder Ashley Young for the role despite diving crictism he will be a good choice (But doubt he will be picked) with back up by Andros Townsend, Micheal Carrick and James Milner on the plane in the waiting room Stewart Downing seems revitalised at West Ham, Matthew Etherington is playing well for Stoke as always and Jonjo Shelvey maybe in the waiting room despite moving from Liverpool . You also cant count out Raheem Sterling and Ross Barkley and Jack Wilshere to be on the plane to Brazil
On The Plane : Steven Gerrard,Frank Lampard,Jack Wilshere,Theo Walcott,Andros Townsend,Raheem Sterling,Ross Barkley,James Milner
Waiting Room: Jonjo Shelvey,Ashley Young,Matthew Etherington,
Forwards :
Well No surprises here Wayne Rooney,Daniel Sturridgeand Danny Welbeck will be guaranteed providing they dont get injured no matter what and Tottenhams Jermain Defoe needs to be playing games for Spurs but he should get on the plane as he will get us a goal or two in the process if he gets game time in the finals, Back up must be Stokes Peter Crouch and Saido Berahino of West Brom
he looks like he is going to be a great player in years to come.
On The Plane : Danny Sturridge,Wayne Rooney,Danny Welbeck and Jermain Defoe
Waiting Room : Peter Crouch and Saido Berahino
My 23 man Squad as follows
Joe Hart,Fraser Forster,John Ruddy,Glen Johnson,Gary Cahill,Phil Jagielka,Ashley Cole,Leighton Baines,Chris Smalling,Phil Jones,Steven Caulker,Steven Gerrard,Frank Lampard,Jack Wilshere,Theo Walcott,Andros Townsend,Raheem Sterling,Ross Barkley,James Milner,Wayne Rooney,Daniel Sturridge,Danny Welbeck,Jermain Defoe
